Fair questions

The things people ask before they sign up.

Do I have to do the Missions?

No. They are there when you want an idea, a push, or something different to shoot. You can put shots up and use the rest of Kōlab without treating photography like homework.

Do I need to be any good?

No. You could have bought your first camera last week or been shooting professionally for twenty years. If you care about the shot, you fit.

Is every post going to get pulled apart?

No. Sometimes you want people to dig into a shot and sometimes you just want to put up something you are pleased with. Both are normal. Feedback Rooms are there for the times you want to go deeper.

Are Missions competitions?

Usually not. Same starting point, different shots, and nobody needs to finish first. A partner running one might offer a prize, but that is never the reason to shoot it.

Will anybody actually see what I put up?

Shots get found through genres, through the Mission they were shot for, and through the Daily Spotlight. There is no follower count, so what you get seen for is the photograph rather than how long you have been here.

Do I need the app?

No. Kōlab works in a browser, and there are iPhone and Android apps if you want them. Same account on all three.

Can I look around before joining?

Yes, and you should. Every mission, every photograph and every comment underneath is public.
